McGill's MBA Program ranks highly on both social responsibility and return on investment

In the 2003 Beyond Grey Pinstripes Survey conducted by the Aspen Institute and the World Resources Institute, the McGill MBA is among 36 MBA programs selected for their contribution to social responsibility. The survey, which analyzed 100 schools from 20 countries, celebrates the achievements of MBA programs that are infusing environmental and social impact management into the classroom, activities and faculty research.

McGill's 2003 Centraide Campaign

McGill's 2003 Centraide Campaign aims to surpass last year's donation total of $252,822. From October 1 to December 1, McGill students, staff, alumni and faculty are asked to give generously to help the University raise $270,000 for Centraide. Special fundraising events are also in the works.

Dean Ross receives corporate governance award

Gerald Ross, Dean of McGill's Faculty of Management, last night received the initial Excellence Award in Corporate Governance from the Federated Press. The award ceremony was part of the Montreal Directors' Summit, attended by prominent speakers, executives and board members.

McGill MBA student Noah Billick wins $10,000 as finalist at As Prime Minister Awards

McGill MBA student Noah Billick has been named one of 10 finalists in Magna International's 2003 As Prime Minister Awards program. Noah was selected as a finalist from over 500 entrants nationwide for offering among the most innovative visions for the country, demonstrating his ability to defend his ideas in front of a national panel of judges, and for his background and contributions to community and volunteer organizations. He has won $10,000 and a paid four-month internship at Magna International Inc., Canada's largest supplier of automotive systems and components.

Professor Peter Christoffersen wins award from the International Journal of Accounting and the KPMG & University of Illinois Business Measurement Research Program

The award was one of six given through a competition for papers on financial risk management and disclosure. A panel of reviewers from academia and KPMG evaluated submitted papers based on contribution and the quality of the research.

PhD student Marlei Pozzebon (Information Systems) wins Best Paper Award at ECIS 2003

The Best Paper Award for the Track Society at European Conference on Information Systems — ECIS, Naples, Italy, June 19-21, 2003, was given to Maira Petrini and Marlei Pozzebon for their paper "The Value of Business Intelligence in the Context of Developing Countries."

Professor Nancy J. Adler receives tribute from the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal

At the 15th annual Networking Dinner, with this year's theme "Rare Pearls," the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal paid tribute to 33 exceptional and authentic women from various sectors of activity who have distinguished themselves through their commitment and exceptional accomplishments. The prestigious annual event took place at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Hotel on Thursday, June 5, 2003. Dr. Adler was selected as one of the rare pearls amongst the 33 who were paid tribute to during this event.
