As part of the collective bargaining process, AGSEM, the union representing Teaching Assistants and Demonstrators at McGill, has received a mandate to strike from its membership. Contrary to some information that has been circulated to members of the McGill community, negotiations between AGSEM and the University are indeed continuing. McGill has acted in good faith from the start of this process
The Honourable Mr. John H. Gomery and the Honourable Madam Justice Pierrette Rayle were awarded the F.R. Scott Award for Distinguished Service by the McGill Faculty of Law during a well-attended event on April 2 that celebrated their distinguished contributions to law.
The Principal's Prize for Excellence in Teaching, established to recognize excellence in teaching and its importance to the academic experience of students at McGill University, is traditionally awarded at Fall Convocation at the Faculty Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor ranks. Faculties are reminded to submit their nominations no later than Friday, May 30, 2008.
