We are currently experiencing issues trying to send emails to the server responsible for emails to some sub-domains. The issue is not on the McGill server but on the other server's end. There is nothing McGill can do except to continue to try to deliver the email for the standard 5-day period, at which time it will bounce if still undeliverable.
Support for the PO-BOX server will be ending on December 31, 2007. If you are still using the PO-BOX email server, you need to click "Details" below and follow the steps to migrate to the Exchange server as soon as possible. (You need to do this yourself; it can't be done for you automatically.)
Earlier problems with certain phone extensions caused by a network outage at the Mac campus datacentre (affecting the following systems: Accounting and Operations call centres, Wireless, Meridian Mail and other Network and Telephony systems) was resolved around 11:40 a.m.
The Puremessage antispam system will be updated this Saturday, Dec. 8, at approximately 6:00 am. Consequently, the web user interface (https://yourspam.mcgill.ca) will be unavailable for about 30 minutes.
There was a database glitch from Sunday, November 24, until Thursday, November 29, that caused all @mcgill.ca addresses that were not explicitly unsubscribed from the Anti-Spam Quarantine to be subscribed.
EVault central email storage services will be temporarily interrupted for maintenance on Monday and Tuesday mornings. These interruptions should last for a period of 2-3 minutes each. See "Details" for exact schedule.
On November 4, 2007, we will switch back to standard time. Microsoft Outlook users should pay extra attention to meetings and appointments scheduled between October 28 and November 4, 2007.
We are experiencing some telephone problems at Macdonald campus. Users are reporting that they can't get a dial tone, or are experiencing long delays in conversations, or that their calls have long rings with no answer from the called party. We will update you when more information is available.
