AACR journals active again

ACP Journal Club merged into Annals of Internal Medicine

EBM enthusiasts take note! As of May 2008, the ACP Journal Club ceased being published as a separate journal. The bimonthly stand-alone journal is now a monthly feature of Annals of Internal Medicine. ACP Journal Club articles began to appear in the Annals with the May 20, 2008 issue.

The new site Life Sciences Library website (www.mcgill.ca/lsl/) is now live live and most of the content has been migrated. Any remaining files will be added in due course.

AACR (Cancer) journals not working at the moment

Blackwell Synergy journals move to Wiley Interscience platform

On June 30, 2008 all electronic journals published by Blackwell Synergy were integrated into the Wiley InterScience platform. With the addition of the Blackwell list, Wiley InterScience now includes 1400 journals, 830 of which have backfiles back to volume 1. To view the full list of Wiley-Blackwell journals go to www.interscience.wiley.com. Blackwell Synergy is no longer online.

EMBASE Classic now available online

Elsevier, producer of the EMBASE database, is pleased to announce the availability of EMBASE Classic, a bibliographic database that makes the EMBASE backfile from 1947-1973 accessible in electronic format. The database includes over 1.6 million records from the biomedical and pharmacological literature.

40 new titles added to PubMedCentral in the past 2 months

PubMedCentral has added 40 new journal titles in the past 60 days. Of these, more than half contribute open access (free) content immediately, while an additional 6 make content available within the NIH 12-month timeline. Therefore, a total of 70% of these new journals are facilitating compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy.

The Life Sciences Library is pleased to announce access to the electronic book collection available via Ovid Online. This large collection covers a broad range of disciplines in the life sciences. Books@Ovid is one of the world's largest online collection of core clinical texts. The collection may be browsed title by title or searched.

Biological Abstracts Archive (1926-1968) and Zoological Record Archive (1864-1977) online

Biological Abstracts Archive (1926-1968) and Zoological Record Archive (1864-1977) are now available online. Biological Abstracts Archive (continued by BIOSIS Previews) is available via OVID Online. Zoological Record Archive is available via WebSPIRs. Both databases can be accessed from the Library Catalogue and the Article Indexes and Databases tool.
