Scheduled maintenance notification: BioOne and Taylor & Francis unavailable beginning Saturday, March 1 at 11am
Due to essential maintenance, BioOne and the Taylor & Francis online platform will be unavailable March 1, 2014. The maintenance window will start at 11 a.m. and may last up to 16 hours. Content and services on bioone.org will be unavailable as well as all Taylor & Francis content including e-journals. Unfortunately, due to license restrictions, the content is not available from any other site.
The Colombo ILL database will not be available Thursday, February 13 from 11PM until 3AM due scheduled maintenance. As a result, McGill users will not be able to submit interlibrary loan requests during this 4 hour time period. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Electronic journal subscriptions are prone to having access terminated at the end of each year. Please note that the McGill Library has renewed all of its online subscriptions and it is our hope that our publishers will minimize the disruption of electronic access. A major ventilation renovation project at the McIntyre Medical Building is underway. Mechanical systems, including exhaust and ventilation, will be upgraded in order to bring systems up to modern standards and improve energy efficiency. This project, carried out as part of the government’s Knowledge Infrastructure Program, includes roof work over the Osler Library of the History of Medicine as well as an overhaul of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on floors 1 through 6.

If you have yet to visit the McGill Remembers project, it’s a great time to explore this rich resource. The McGill Remembers project has expanded its content, complete with new photo galleries, a searchable War Records database, and histories of more than 6000 veterans from the Second World War.

Last spring, consultations were conducted by our Faculty and McGill Library Services on the future of the Life Sciences Library. Students, residents, faculty and staff from our health sciences community were invited to provide initial input on how the Life Sciences Library space could be reconfigured based on current and future needs.
Most Library branches will be closed on Monday, October 14 (Thanksgiving Day). Many Library branches will be open with modified hours for study over the weekend, with some offering services. The Humanities and Social Sciences Library, located in the McLennan-Redpath Library Complex, will be open for study on Monday, October 14 from 8am to midnight. Services will be closed.
