Lending & Access Services is now providing headphones at the Loans desk in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library. You can use them to listen to CDs or DVDs on the computers in the library. Our Dell computers have DVD players on them, so they can be used as viewing stations. The loan period is 2 days. We are also making laptop locks available. These allow you to attach the lock to your laptop
ProQuest will be taking a maintenance window to install infrastructure upgrades to ensure continued reliable performance. The 12-hour maintenance window will take place Saturday, August 26, at 22:00 EDT to Sunday, August 27, at 10:00 EDT.
A new Uniform Loans Policy came into effect on August 15 at all branch libraries. It was designed to eliminate the policy variations between branches, and we hope the new policy will make it easier for our clients to borrow from any branch library at McGill.
There will be a 60-minute period of scheduled downtime for the Historical Abstracts and America: History and Life databases on Thursday, August 17, from 3:30 AM to 4:30 AM Eastern time. During this period, the database servers will be moved to a new location within the data centre.
