Reference Manager workshops at the Life Sciences Library

Reference Manager is citation management software that allows users to create, maintain and organize references to articles, books, electronic citations, etc. It also allows users to automatically insert citations from their database into a Word or WordPerfect document (Cite While You Write). Registration required.

Extended library hours starting October 11, 2005

The McLennan/Redpath complex will be accessible for study until 00:45 starting October 11. 24-hour access for study will be in effect in the Redpath Library Building/Information Commons from November 5 to December 19, 2005.

Library policy on gifts-in-kind

An updated collection development policy on gifts-in-kind is now available on the Library website. It includes guidelines for acceptance of donated works and guidelines for the issuing of tax receipts. Faculties and schools are encouraged to consider donating complimentary copies of current monographs and conference proceedings, as well as other materials. We thank you for your generosity.

MyiLibrary: Over 2,000 e-books now available (McGill users only)

We have just acquired a collection of over 2,000 e-books from international government agencies, available on the MyiLibrary platform. McGill access includes collections from the following: International Atomic Energy Agency, International Labour Organization, International Organization for Migration, UN AIDS, and World Health Organization. These e-books should soon be added to the catalogue.

Transfer of the Blacker-Wood Library of Biology to the Life (formerly Health) Sciences Library

Beginning Monday, August 15, 2005, the Health Sciences Library becomes the Life Sciences Library in recognition of the transfer of the Blacker-Wood Library of Biology collections and services.
