It recently came to light that keylogger devices, used to log every key pressed on a keyboard, were found on some public computers at Concordia University. These devices put the privacy and security of user information at risk. McGill’s IT Services has since inspected McGill’s public computers and no keyloggers were found. IT Services does regular checks to ensure the safety of McGill’s public computers and are asking users to be vigilant as well.
Whether you're using a public computer at McGill, a cafe, library, hotel, or even left your own laptop unattended for a short period of time, you should always inspect it to ensure that no keylogger devices have been attached. A keylogger is a tiny device that logs every key you press on your keyboard. It can capture personal messages, passwords, credit card numbers, and everything else you type.
From March 16 to April 28, 2016, the Macdonald Campus Library will be offering extended hours. In addition to its regular hours, the Library will be open: Monday to Thursday from 6 to 10pm and Saturday from 12 to 8pm. For a complete list of the Library's opening hours, please click here.

March 16, 2:00pm - Access to the Colombo Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service is currently unavailable. Colombo staff are in touch with OCLC, who are looking into the connection problems. The McGill Library and Archives now has a trial for DynaMed Plus from EBSCO in addition to our subscription to DynaMed. DynaMed Plus was released in 2015. Here is a short description of its features:

Off-campus authentication for access to McGill Library e-resources and login for Colombo ILL will not be available Sunday, February 14, 2016 starting at 1:00am for up to 1 hour, due to scheduled maintenance to McGill login services.
A new version of EndNote X7 for Mac is now available for download. It is compatible with Microsoft Word 2016 for Mac. All McGill University full-time faculty, staff and students can download and install EndNote for use on their personal computers or on McGill workstations for which they have administrative rights. Update, Friday, January 22, 4:35pm: The problems with links to Library e-resources appear to have been resolved. OCLC has brought our EZproxy server back online, and links are working as expected once again. We are currently experiencing problems with our EZproxy authentication system used to provide access to Library e-resources. The issues are affecting links to McGill Library licensed e-resources from both on and off campus.

Update, January 20, 4:30pm: Previously reported problems with JSTOR links in the WorldCat Catalogue have been resolved. Links to JSTOR journals should now resolve properly.
