McGill Jessup team selected for finals in Washington

Law students Mary Race, Kabir Jamal, Bryana Jensen and Alexandra Dodger took silver at the Canadian National Division Qualifying Tournament of the 2010 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition last weekend.

Kim Brooks named one of Canada’s 10 3M National Teaching Fellows, according to Maclean's

Law student Joanna Baron wins research contract with Justice Canada

Joanna Baron, Law II, has been awarded a research contract worth $5,000 by the Department of Justice as part of its program on Canadian bijuralism. Her research proposal aims to examine the "Interaction Between the Assisted Human Reproduction Act and Provincial Laws on Filiation or Parentage.”

Nicholas Melling and Jeannine Plamondon win 2010 Guérin Cup

Last Friday at the Montreal Courthouse, the team of Nicholas Melling and Jeannine Plamondon competed in and won the Guy-Guérin Cup, which is the Quebec regional round for the Sopinka Cup. In addition, Melling won the individual prize for the “Best examination-in-chief.”

McGill wins the Yvon Blais cup at the Mignault Moot

Students Olivier Archambault-Lafond, Yacine Hadjoudj, Geneviève Laurin and Éric L'Italien defended McGill’s colours at the Pierre-Basile Mignault Moot last weekend. The Laurin / Archambault-Lafond tandem came in second and received the Yvon Blais Cup.
