The Faculty of Law was delighted to learn that two of its recent graduates are among the 15 doctoral students who received one of the prestigious scholarships awarded by Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation.
On April 24, 2009, the Québec Society of Comparative Law (AQDC) held its annual symposium at McGill’s Faculty of Law. Part of the proceedings included announcing the winners of the AQDC’s 2008-2009 writing contest for undergraduate and graduate students, who this year turned to be two McGill Law students.
On April 15, 2009, the Fonds de recherche sur la société et la culture (FQRSC) announced its funding decisions for 2009. Among them, a research team attached to the Faculty of Law’s Quebec Research Centre of Private & Comparative Law (QRCPCL) secured a grant of over $400,000 over the next four years for their research project, 'Vers une nouvelle juridicité québécoise'.
Jimena Blumenkron, a student doing a master’s degree within the Institute of Air and Space Law, received the 2008 International Aviation Women’s Association annual scholarship.
