To encourage innovation and stimulate interest in research among law students at faculties of Quebec civil law, the Paul-André Crépeau Center for Private and Comparative Law is launching a student poster contest.

The contest is linked to the conference that will mark, on 12 February 2016, the Crépeau Centre’s 40th anniversary, during which poster submissions will be displayed and the  winners announced.

The Faculty of Law is proud to announce that Professor René Provost has been awarded a research fellowship by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation. This prestigious prize, which is valued at $225,000, recognizes public intellectuals in the humanities and social sciences who venture beyond the boundaries of their disciplines to find new solutions to complex issues of major importance to Canadians. René Provost is the fourth Trudeau Fellow from McGill’s Faculty of Law.

This August, Professor François Crépeau took over the mandate of Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) from Professor Colleen Sheppard.

François Crépeau is United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants. He holds the Hans & Tamar Oppenheimer Chair in Public International Law at the Faculty of Law, where he teaches Migration Law, Immigration and Refugee Law, and Constitutional Law. He became a member of the Royal Society of Canada in 2012.
