In fall 2011 Canada Post changed the postal codes for a number of buildings on the McGill downtown campus as part of a large-scale changeover. Additional McGill buildings will receive new postal codes in the future.
Minerva and Banner INB, as well as the myMcGill portal, will be unavailable for 30 minutes to resolve the ongoing connectivity issues reported earlier. Original announcement: Minerva and Banner INB are temporarily experiencing high levels of traffic, slowing response times and in some cases causing connection timeouts.

As of December 28th, McGill’s license of Virus Barrier X will expire. Replacing it is Trend Micro’s Smart Surfing for Mac. Its features include antivirus, antispyware and web threat protection; additionally, it has built in parental controls, a spam blocker and a two-way firewall.
Upon conclusion of the strike, all required access to IT systems and services will be restored. MUNACA members will receive email with details on how to ensure that all your services are functioning normally upon return.
Intermittent problems persist with telephones to CallCenters (ICS Service Desk, Facilities Maintenance Operations Centre, Enrolment Services, and Continuing Education) have been resolved.
Support for VHS technology is being phased out of McGill classrooms because VCRs are no longer being manufactured. When a VCR breaks it will no longer be fixed or replaced and new installations will not include VCRs. In larger classrooms a Blu-ray device will be installed.
The McGill MarketPlace (MMP) is currently unavailable due to technical issues. The service provider is investigating the cause of the disruption. Thank you for your patience.
New ability to upload admissions requirements through Minerva improves service to applicants, reduces paper waste and increases efficiency
IT Services and Enrolment Services have introduced a new functionality to Minerva that allows many applicants to McGill to upload their required documents (e.g., unofficial transcripts) for admission. Read the full announcement for details.
Attention all BlackBerry users: Due to a global problem with Research in Motion's BlackBerry messaging services, BlackBerry users can expect sporadic delays when sending and receiving emails. The problem also affects browsing, BBM and PIN messaging.
Ever wished that McGill's online campus maps could be easier to navigate and understand? McGill's new maps have just launched, and they're based on something we can all wrap our heads around: Google Maps.
Email messages addressed to Yahoo domains (yahoo.com, yahoo.ca, etc.) from McGill mail servers are currently being delayed. It seems the Yahoo server has "greylisted" McGill email, probably due to a large quantity of emails coming from McGill within a short period of time. Delivery delays can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the yahoo destination server.
