Congratulations to McGill School of Information Studies (SIS) PhD student Irene Kitimbo on her presentation at the 10th International Conference on Intellectual Capital, Knowledge Management & Organisational Learning (ICICKM 2013) at George Washington University in Washington DC.
The McGill School of Information Studies (SIS) is strongly represented at the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) 76th Annual Meeting, Nov. 1-5 in Montreal. The conference is co-chaired by Dr. France Bouthillier, SIS Director and faculty member. Faculty, affiliated researchers, and students are participating in panels and workshops and presenting papers and posters.

SIS MLIS Archival Studies student Allana Mayer wins ProQuest scholarship for electronic information services
Allana Mayer, School of Information Studies MLIS II student is the winner of the ProQuest Roger K. Summit Scholarship, open to LIS students worldwide! The Roger K. Summit Scholarship, awarded annually by ProQuest, recognizes LIS students who demonstrate outstanding interest or performance in electronic information services. The award is the equivalent of US $5,000 and will be presented at the Special Libraries Association (SLA) Annual Conference.

Congratulations to Dr. Catherine Guastavino on her 5-year NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) Discovery Grant for research on auditory motion perception.
School of Information Studies alumna and Education Liaison Librarian Maya Kucij (MLIS '08) has been awarded the McGill Library's 2013 Librarian Excellence Award. The award recognizes a McGill librarian who has demonstrated excellence in academic librarianship and has shown efforts to improve library services through innovative practice, initiative and resourcefulness. Recent School of Information Studies PhD graduates Guillaume Boutard and Amandine Pras have been awarded two-year FQRSC post-doctoral fellowships.
