We are currently addressing some issues with the /channels website and as a result some of the listings and feeds you normally find here may not be currently available. We are working to address these issues and expect to restore the site to full service in the near future.
UPDATE: 11 AM, myMcGill portal is once again available.
McGill's Software Licensing site will be upgraded to a new version of the eStore on Friday, April 1, 2011. The new website interface offers a more streamlined process for ordering software. If you have a bookmark to the underlying E-Academy site you should replace it with www.mcgill.ca/software.
REMINDER to McGill web site owners/managers: Have you requested to move your WPS website to the new Web Management System yet?
For the past 10 years, the Data Warehouse has been taken off-line every night for approximately 90 minutes in order to be refreshed with live production data. Now the data refresh can be done in the background, resulting in only a 5-minute downtime at the beginning of the refresh and another 5-minute downtime upon completion. McGill's Facilities and Space Maintenance System (FAMIS) is now back up and running normally.
The myMcGill portal site has been restarted and is now back to normal. It was inaccessible for approximately 1 hour between 10:15 am and 11:15 am this morning.
EndNote has released an update to EndNote X4 for Mac that includes several improvements.
On Tuesday Feb 22 from 6:45 am to 7:15 am, many McGill web sites (www.mcgill.ca/*) will be unavailable during system maintenance. During this period, users attempting to access any affected web site will view a message advising them of the downtime and providing links to key McGill IT services.
Be aware of fraudulent email messages entitled "Update Your Account" that are circulating at McGill. The email asks you to click an attachment that is a copy of a McGill sign-in form and then submit this data to an external site. Please delete this email immediately! McGill IT Services will upgrade the search infrastructure on the McGill website starting on Friday, February 4 at 5 p.m. The new search engines will take approximately 10 days to index the content of all web pages. This may slow down performance of McGill web sites; however there should be no disruption to the web service or the search functionality.
