Get turned on to Energy Awareness Day

McGill University will be holding its first annual Energy Awareness Day on January 29, 2004. In accordance with McGill's environmental policy, the campaign will serve to promote environmental awareness and publicize initiatives that have already been undertaken by the University to curtail the over-consumption of energy on campus. January has been selected for the campaign as the cold weather and the resumption of the academic year have traditionally made it the month with the highest energy consumption.

University and MUNACA Executive reach an agreement

"We are pleased to announce that late yesterday evening, the University negotiation team and the MUNACA Executive reached an Agreement in Principle," said Provost Luc Vinet. "The terms of the agreement are confidential until MUNACA holds its General Assembly next week. The union will recommend ratification of this agreement to all members of the bargaining unit. A successful ratification vote will be good news for everyone in the McGill Community."
