Public health warning

A rabid bat was found lying on the sidewalk at McGill’s Roddick Gates on Friday, September 10th 2010 around noon. Rabies is a viral infection that can be transmitted by the bite of an infected animal. In the case of a bat, this bite can be very small and may go unnoticed.

Floods in Pakistan

The devastation from damage and disease in the wake of catastrophic floods in Pakistan remains an urgent problem. More than 1,600 have been killed and an estimated 17.2 million people have been affected since the floods occurred toward the end of July, according to the United Nations. The need for relief support is enormous.

Floods in Pakistan

McGill continues to closely monitor the situation in Pakistan where the country’s worst flooding in nearly a century has affected more than 14 million people and left at least 1,600 dead, according to the United Nations.

Major public works project near Roddick Gates

The replacement of a major water main at the corner of McGill College Ave. and Sherbrooke St. W. will result in some partial and temporary street and sidewalk closings in the area adjacent to the Roddick Gates until early August. The work began Monday, June 14.
