Given the article in this week’s Tribune and other media reports about a McGill student’s posts to Twitter that contained disturbing and threatening messages, I want to reassure the McGill community that the University takes such incidents extremely seriously.

McGill music theorist William Caplin wins Killam Fellowship

William Caplin, a specialist in the theory of musical form and James McGill professor of music theory at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, is one of eight outstanding Canadian researchers to be awarded a Canada Council for the Arts Killam Research Fellowship. The Council announced the recipients of the grants today.

Macdonald Campus boil water advisory

Please note that a boil-water advisory has been issued for the Macdonald campus because of temporary problems with the chlorinator. Boiling water for one minute kills all water-borne disease causing micro-organisms. Bottled water will be provided to the campus until the machinery is repaired. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
