French-language magazine Nouveau Projet has written an article featuring Professor Nathan Hall of our Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Titled "Le rire jaune de l’université," the article describes Professor Hall's work with social media as academic labour advocacy.

Today, the Royal Society of Canada announced 70 new members to The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, including seven McGill scholars, three of whom are with our Faculty of Education. With seven members, McGill has more new inductees this year than any other university in the country.

Dr. Jeffrey Derevensky was awarded the Lifetime Research Award by the U.S. National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), in recognition of his exceptional achievements in the field of gambling research. Dr. Derevensky is Director of the International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviours at McGill University's Faculty of Education,

Victoria Talwar, Professor with our Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, has been named the winner of the 2017 David Thomson Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching. The award acknowledges outstanding contributions to promoting graduate student excellence through supervision and teaching by a faculty member who has been supervising for 10 years or more.

AQSMN association québécoise pour la santé mentale des nourrissonsProfessor Marie-Hélène Pennestri, of our Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, has received a grant from the Association Québécoise pour la Santé Mentale des Nourrissons (AQSMN). In May, 2017, she was presented with the Bourse Professionelle Yvon-Gauthier on behalf of the AQSMN.

The Faculty of Education is pleased to announce that Fiona Benson has been appointed as Associate Dean, Academic Programs, effective July 1st, 2017. In this position she will be responsible for the governance of academic programs across the Faculty, and coordinating and facilitating the monitoring, evaluation and development of academic programs.
