At convocation on June 1, 2006, the Faculty of Arts awarded the degree of Doctor of Letters, honoris causa, to Christopher Plummer, Nancy Huston and Morris Halle. To learn more about the recipients, follow the link below.
Over the past three years the Faculty has witnessed incredible growth: in 2002-2003, we welcomed 24 new members to the Faculty; in 2003-2004, we welcomed 22 more; and this year a further 27 new professors joined the ranks.

This year, the Faculty of Arts presented an Award of Excellence for Administrative and Support Staff to two outstanding administrative officers, Georgii Mikula from the Department of History and Linda Montreuil from the Department of Economics. The Award for Excellence in Service to Graduate and Postdoctoral Students was won this year by Lynda Bastien of the Department of Languages and Literatures Administrative Services.
