Ex-basketball player-now-director nominated for Oscar

"Hardwood," a 29-minute film written and directed by Hubert Davis (BA'00), has earned a nomination in the Academy Awards short documentary category. Davis's father is former Harlem Globetrotter Mel Davis. The younger Davis uses interviews and home movies to explore his father's relationship with his family.

Jewish and Arab youth unite on journal project

"Yalla: Reflections on the Middle East," co-sponsored by the McGill Arab Students' Association and Hillel Jewish Student Centre of McGill, compiles poems, stories, essays and photos on the theme of hope for an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

McGill MBAs place first in North America on international mobility according to Financial Times global survey

The Financial Times of London survey of 100 MBA programs in the world, released on January 24, 2005, places McGill graduates first in North America – and 11th worldwide – for international mobility. This measure is based on the employment movements of alumni between time of graduation and today. The FT results are based on a survey of the 2001 alumni and an analysis of each school's activities.
