Next March, McGill’s Faculty of Law will be hosting the White & Case Canadian National Division Qualifying Tournament. Approximately 120 lawyers, legal academics and judges will be needed to act as competition judges.

Congratulations to the McGill Moot Team for taking first place in the 2011 Sarin Leiden International Air Law Moot Court Competition in Dubai, UAE. The team consisted of the following Institute of Air & Space Law students: Auguste Hocking (Australia), Joseph Wheeler (Australia) and Mithun Pemmaiah (India); our Doctoral candidate, Paul FitzGerald (Canada), coached the team.
Joseph C. Wheeler, an Australian lawyer who received his Certificate in Air & Space Law from McGill's Faculty of Law this winter, was the first lawyer to receive a Royal Aeronautical Society Centennial Scholarship in November 2010. The IASL congratulates him for this distinction.

Professor Roderick Macdonald will be receiving an honorary doctorate from Université de Montréal during its fall convocation ceremony to be held on October 7, 2010.
The 39th Edward Warner Award, the highest honour in the world of civil aviation, was conferred by the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on Dr. Nicolas Mateesco Matte on September 30, 2010, in recognition of his eminent contribution to air and space law.
On Sept. 26 and 27, McGill’s Institute of Air and Space Law and the International Civil Aviation Organization [ICAO] will co-host Air Transport: What Route to Sustainability?, an international conference that will bring together international experts from governments, specialized organisations, academia, law, finance, as well as the aviation industry.
