Professor Angela Campbell was recently appointed Associate Provost (Policies, Procedures and Equity) (APPPE). She will step into the role on September 1. The APPPE is one of two Associate Provosts assisting Provost Christopher Manfredi in top-level academic governance at McGill.

Old Chancellor Day Hall, the Faculty of Law’s most iconic building, is closing at the end of June for 16 months as we undertake much-needed renovations to upgrade the building’s heating, electrical systems, plumbing, windows and more, while respecting its historical features. Faculty and staff who were in OCDH have been relocated either to New Chancellor Day Hall and 3674-3690 Peel Street, or to rented office space near McGill University’s Roddick Gates at 2001 McGill College Avenue, suite 750.
On 14 March 2014, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) announced that Mr. John Augustin, a graduate of the Institute of Air and Space Law (class of 1991-92) and a native of Saint Lucia, has been appointed to the post of Director, Legal Affairs and External Relations Bureau (D/LEB). Mr. Augustin has been a staff member of ICAO since July 1989, where he has held positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as Deputy Director, LEB. Before joining ICAO, he served within various ministries of the Government of Saint Lucia.
MONTRÉAL, 18 November 2013 – The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) announced today that Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu of Nigeria has unanimously been elected as the new President-elect of the ICAO Council. He will officially take over the reins as ICAO Council President beginning 1 January 2014, for a three-year term. Dr. Aliu is a graduate of McGill University's Institute of Air & Space Law.

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Dr. Yaw Nyampong has been named Executive Director of the Centre for Research in Air & Space Law. Yaw Nyampong (LLM’05, DCL’11) is also a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Ghana, Legon. He held an Arsenault Postdoctoral Fellowship at McGill's Institute of Air & Space Law in 2011-2012, and a Boulton Fellowship at the Faculty of Law in 2012-2013.

Dear IASL Alumni and Friends, Recently, the McGill Daily published an article describing an effort by a student organization – Demilitarize McGill – to protest activities at several McGill University institutions, including the Institute of Air & Space Law [IASL], a graduate program of the Faculty of Law. The article erroneously states, "The IASL . . . conducts research for the U.S. Air Force." This is false. The IASL conducts no research for or on behalf of the USAF or any other military institution.
The Institute of Air and Space Law (IASL), of the Faculty of Law at McGill University, invites applications to the Arsenault Postdoctoral Research Fellowships. The IASL intends to appoint one or two Postdoctoral Research Fellow(s), to start 1 September 2013. The position(s) is (are) funded by the Erin J C Arsenault Trust Fund. The research team is led by Prof. Ram Jakhu, Associate Professor, and Associate Director of the Centre for Research in Air and Space Law.
