McGill Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Heather Munroe-Blum, is delighted to announce that McGill’s Board of Governors has approved the reappointment of Marc Weinstein as Vice-Principal (Development and Alumni Relations) for a six-year term ending on June 30, 2018.

Now Chair of the Department of Medicine, leading researcher is a McGill grad, native Montrealer

Prof. Sean Ferguson has been appointed Dean of McGill's Schulich School of Music for a five-year term starting this month. Ferguson, a composer whose work bridges the areas of musical creation and scientific and technological research, is the Director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology (CIRMMT).

We write to confirm that Dr. Richard I. Levin has advised us that he has, for personal reasons, decided not to seek reappointment to the position of Vice-Principal [Health Affairs] and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. We are most grateful that Dr. Levin will continue to serve in those roles until the end of his five-year mandate, on August 31st, 2011.

Stuart H. (Kip) Cobbett, Chair of McGill University’s Board of Governors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gerald Butts, Peter Coughlin and Samuel Minzberg as members of the Board, effective Jan. 1, 2011.

Statement from Heather Munroe-Blum, Principal and Vice-Chancellor: I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Vaughan Dowie as Executive Head of Public Affairs, effective immediately. In this position, he will report directly to the Principal and Vice-Chancellor and will serve as a member of the University’s senior team.
