Update on negotiations with AMUSE (casual employees)

Published: 26 October 2016

The parties met for a full day on October 24 in the presence of the conciliator. The parties agreed to conduct exploratory discussions on two non-monetary topics and then move on to monetary topics if they managed to agree on the non-monetary topics.

The two non-monetary topics were: a) the applicability of the article on the posting and the granting of assignments for assignments governed by financial aid programs such as the Work Study Program, and b) mechanisms surrounding the issuance of ID cards to non-student employees covered by the agreement.

The parties made good progress on the issuance of ID cards and were able to reach a consensus on the content of a possible agreement on this matter. The parties agreed to continue their discussion on the posting and the granting of assignments for assignments governed by financial aid programs such as the Work Study Program at the next conciliation meeting, set for October 28.

The parties also ratified that day the French version of three articles which had been approved in English. These articles relate to the grievance resolution procedure, the employee file and the payment of salary.

The parties are also scheduled to meet on November 10 and 18.
