Negotiation update: AMURE (Research Associates / Assistants)

Published: 22 February 2017

On February 17, the parties met in the presence of a conciliator appointed by the Ministry of Labour – their second such meeting. McGill presented the Union with a French translation of eight articles agreed upon by both parties in previous meetings, and the Union will review these texts in the coming days. The parties will work together with the aim of finalizing them at the next meeting.

As well, the parties discussed the posting and granting of assignments, probationary periods, and casual research assistants’ working conditions in general.  Proposals were made on these topics. They agreed to review their data and build their positions more fully in the coming weeks, in order to revisit them at upcoming meetings on March 21 and 31.

This update is meant to inform the community about ongoing negotiations and has been validated by the union.
