As Quebec marks one year since first funding in vitro fertilization, would-be parents in Ontario ask: Will our time come?

Abby Lippman, a professor of epidemiology at McGill University in Montreal, questions why infertility has trumped other needs within the health-care system, such as home care or medication coverage.

"My hope is that certain provinces will have some sense and ask some important questions first," Lippman said of Quebec's program earlier this year. "I know there's a huge amount of pressure in Ontario."
