LENNOXVILLE, Que. -- The McGill women's soccer team exploded for three late goals in a five-minute span to blank Bishop's 3-0 in Lennoxville, Que., Sunday, improving their unblemished record to 2-0 in QUSL action.

Midfielder Meghan Bourque of Burlington, Ont., netted the game-winner in the 70th minute and that marker ignited the offensive outburst. Alexandra Morin-Boucher of St. Gabriel de Brandon, Que., added an insurance marker just a minute later and four minutes after that, Julia Bahen scored on a penalty kick to put the match out of reach. Bahen, a sophomore from Vancouver, B.C., was named as McGill's player of the game.

"Bishop's was physical and well-organized today," said McGill head coach Marc Mounicot. "But we showed some urgency and pride. We played very well after making a number of substitutions in the second half. Bourque, Christina Burrows, Bianca Cordileone and Jenna Holdham each had very strong performances today."

Freshman goalkeeper Victoria Muccilli of Mississauga, Ont., made four saves and posted the shutout in her first regular season start for the Martlets.

McGill lost rookie midfielder Hannah Rivkin only nine minutes into the game and the entire team appeared to fall flat for the remainder of the half. She collided with Bishop's keeper Molly Bucholtz who had charged out to corral a loose ball about 15 yards in front of the Bishop's net. Rivkin lay prone for a few minutes before being helped off the field by two members of the McGill medical staff. Her status is uncertain for McGill's next game. The Martlets will also be without the services of Cordileone, their rookie striker, who was red-carded in the final minute after receiving her second yellow card.

McGill (2-0) will take on Laval (2-0) in a first-place showdown Thursday at Molson Stadium. The women's contest is slated for 6:30 p.m., start, followed by the men's game at 8:30 p.m.
