Published: 9 May 2014

Thanks to a generous donation from the Li Ka Shing Foundation (Canada) to McGill University, ten students from McGill’s Faculty of Law and ten students in Shantou University’s Law School (Guangdong Province, China), will be doing a summer law program together from May 19 to 30. The program, which alternates between Montreal and Shantou, will take place in China this year.

The McGill Shantou Summer Program aspires to offer McGill and Shantou law students a forum to gain a nuanced understanding of each other’s political, social, and legal institutions, cultures and traditions, in a collaborative fashion. The program will feature 10 days of intense course work and several joint seminars, along with visits around Guangdong province.

This year's students are: Jennifer Anderson, Colin Bourrier, Claire Boychuk, Jonathan Brosseau-Rioux, Sheel Chaudhuri, Katarina Daniels, Emily Hazlett, James Mccarthy, Alexandra Olshefsky, and Alba Zuniga Ramos. They will be joined by Assistant Dean Véronique Bélanger and Professor Nandini Ramanujam.
