BCL/LLB student Andrew Deak won the 2008-2009 essay competition of the Association québécoise de droit comparé.
Andrew received the award, which comes with a $500 prize, from the hands of Université de Sherbrooke's Professor Mathieu Devinat (pictured together on left) during the Association's annual symposium, which took place on March 19, 2010 at the Quebec Court of Appeal in Montreal.
Deak's essay was a comparative paper on "Substantive Equality in Canada and South Africa." It focused on the criminalization of sex work on both countries and was written under the supervision of Professor Vrinda Narain.
