Schulich School of Music students and alum shine at the 2012 OSM Standard Life Competition this past weekend
Two current percussion students won prizes, as did a piano alumnae.
Current student Krystina Marcoux, 23, from Quebec won First Prize in the Percussion category, ($10,000) and also won the prize for the Best Interpretation of a Canadian work ($2500) She also won the Banff Center prize for percussion, an award which covers the complete costs of attending a three week session at the Banff Center for Fine Arts this summer.
Current student Bryan Allen, 22, from Ontario, won Third Prize in the Percussion category, ($2500) and won the Orford Arts Center prize for percussion, an award which covers the complete costs of attending a two week session at the Orford Arts Center this summer.
Alumnae Charles Richard-Hamelin, 23 , from Quebec, won Second Prize in the Piano Category, ($5,000) and won the prize for the Best Interpretation of a Canadian work ($2,500). He also won the Banff Center prize for piano, an award which covers the complete costs of attending a three week session at the Banff Center for Fine Arts this summer.
