Robert Leckey’s book wins Canada Prize

Published: 17 August 2010

The International Academy of Comparative Law has just announced that Professor Robert Leckey, BCL'02, LLB'02, is the recipient of the 2010 Canada Prize for his book, Contextual Subjects: Family, State and Relational Theory (University of Toronto Press, 2008). It was a unanimous decision by the jury.

The Canada Prize recognizes an original legal work "of high scientific quality" that critically compares the common law and civil law systems.

Valued at $10,000, the Canada Prize is awarded only once every four years and Professor Leckey is the fifth recipient.  Our colleague Professor H. Patrick Glenn also received this prize in 1998 for his work on Legal Traditions of the World.
