We are currently addressing some issues with the /channels website and as a result some of the listings and feeds you normally find here may not be currently available. We are working to address these issues and expect to restore the site to full service in the near future.
In March 2010 IT Services announced the following:
“IT Services has been providing Dialup Access Service (DAS) to the McGill community since the need for off campus internet access was required. Over the years, there has been much progress with many commercial companies providing up-to-date, cost-effective, high-speed options. In light of the commercial options and the cost for McGill to maintain and support such a service (for a few remaining DAS users, less than 1% of the McGill community) it has been decided that DAS will be decommissioned. No new DAS accounts will be created effective immediately, and the service will be terminated for all users as of December 15, 2010.”
Since then, current DAS users have been receiving detailed email messages from IT Services regarding this change with related information and assistance in finding a replacement solution. With the DAS users cooperation very few have left it to the last minute to change to an alternative service – thank you.
