Recent gifts to Faculty of Law total more than $4.7-million

Published: 3 December 2008

McGill’s Faculty of Law has received more than $4.7-million in philanthropic gifts since the beginning of September, just as the University enters the 2nd year of Campaign McGill: History in the Making. This means the Faculty has raised more than $17-million since McGill launched its largest-ever fundraising drive in October 2007 – nearly half-way toward its goal of $35,130,000. Dean of Law Nicholas Kasirer says he is extremely thankful to all of the individuals and foundations that have donated to the Faculty in recent months, and throughout Campaign McGill.

“We have always relied on the generosity of our loyal alumni and friends, but in potentially difficult times it is especially critical for great institutions such as McGill’s Faculty of Law to have the resources to foster young minds,” said Kasirer. “The fact that so many alumni have stepped up gives us all the more reason to celebrate because it shows that they understand education is truly the best way to invest in our future.”
