Professor Adelle Blackett appointed William Dawson Scholar

Published: 30 January 2007

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that our colleague Adelle Blackett has been appointed William Dawson Scholar by the University.

University authorities made particular mention of Professor Blackett's accomplishments as a teacher and scholar in international trade and international labour law in proceeding with her appointment.

Her work on these subjects was seen as consonant with priorities of the Faculty for its graduate and undergraduate programs, which range from trade, mobility and enterprise to human rights and legal pluralism, to transsystemic legal education.

The William Dawson Scholar designation is conferred on professors at McGill as would be a Canada Research Chair (tier 2).
