New digital collection: The Archives of the Civil Code Revision Office

Published: 8 April 2013

In 1955, the Quebec legislature created the Civil Code Revision Office (C.C.R.O.) and assigned to it the monumental task of revising the Civil Code of Lower Canada to bring it in line with the social, political, and economic realities affecting private law relations in Quebec.

The Archives of the Civil Code Revision Office makes available approximately 4000 documents consisting of working papers, correspondence, minutes of meetings, and internal memoranda from the C.C.R.O., mostly from the period of 1969-1979.

The Final Report of the C.C.R.O is also available online from this site in its entirety.
