NBC, CBC, et al. - Why redundancy in your 40s can lead to a far higher risk of an early death

As if losing your job wasn't stressful enough - if you happen to be in your 40s it could also land you in an early grave.  Men made redundant in middle-age are 83 per cent more likely to die early than if they remain at work. For women who become jobless under the age of 50, the risk of dying early rises by 37 per cent.
