Multidisciplinary Pre-COP21 Gathering of McGill Researchers

Published: 18 November 2015

On November 12, 2015, researchers from across McGill campuses convened to promote connection and collaboration on the topic of climate change in advance of the potentially historic Conference of Parties (COP) in Paris, France. COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, will be negotiating towards a solution which keeps global warming below 2°C through a legally binding and universal agreement on climate.

The informal gathering was supported by the McGill School of Environment, Marcel Desautels Institute for Integrated Management (MDIIM), Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED), and McGill Faculty of Law. Attendees expressed interest for future initiatives, including a possible post-COP21 debrief, which would bring together a wide variety of faculty members and graduate students working on climate change at McGill University.
