MUHC Research Institute launches new website

Published: 14 February 2005

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI MUHC) officially launched a new website today. The site, which is located on the greater McGill University Health Centre platform, can be accessed in both French and English at www.muhc.ca/research.

The new website provides detailed information on the wide variety of research conducted within each of the institute's 11 research axes, as well as the scientific focus of each RI MUHC investigator. The new site, under development for the past year, has been painstakingly designed to be comprehensive and accessible to all potential users — including researchers, students, industry, media and the general public.

Significant features of the new website include:

  • A searchable database of the RI MUHC's 500 investigators, including information on research pursuits and selected publications.
  • Information on recent RI MUHC research breakthroughs and inventions.
  • Career opportunities at the RI MUHC.
  • Internal newsletters and scholarship information.
  • A keyword search function that allows users to access information on all research-related topics at the RI MUHC.

"It's a fantastic resource that will raise the profile of the Research Institute and its scientists, and foster exciting new collaborations both internally, and with other institutions," says Dr. Emil Skamene, Scientific Director of the RI MUHC.
