In memoriam : Dr. Terry Tannenbaum

Published: 22 April 2016

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Dr. Terry-Nan Tannenbaum passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 17, 2016 surrounded by her family.  Terry was as an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine.
Donations may be made to the "Dr. Terry Nan Tannenbaum Memorial Fund for Education" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation (514-340-8251).

On behalf of the McGill Department of Family Medicine, we would like to express  our deepest sympathies.

Terry was a physician dedicated to public health and dedicated to the improvement of the healthcare system. She also had a particular dedication to teaching public health to medical students and family medicine residents.

The Tannenbaum family and the Department of Family Medicine are very closely linked. Of course, Isaac was a founding father of the Department. We are also extremely proud of the Isaac Tannenbaum Research Day. This annual event brings together our 200 residents from all of our units in Montreal as well our units in Gatineau, Chateauguay and Val d’Or. It also brings together our leading clinician teachers and clinician scientists as well as our graduate students.

The next Isaac Tannenbaum Family Medicine Resident Research Day will be held on Friday May 27, 2016. At that time, we will have a brief in memoriam for Terry and announce the creation of the Dr. Terry Tannenbaum Prize for the “Residents Choice Award”.
