McGill's Schulich School of Music ranked top Canadian university by QS in the Performing Arts Category

On March 21st, 2016 the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2016 were announced and McGill's Schulich School of Music was named the top Canadian performing arts university in the country. QS rankings highlight the world’s top universities in 42 subjects, based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.  The Schulich School of Music was ranked 26th overall.  Other participating Canadian institutions include University of British Columbia, University of Montreal, and University of Toronto.  The 26th place overall ranks the school ahead of other institutions including the Eastman School of Music and the Moscow Conservatory. 

Founded in 1904, the Schulich School of Music of McGill University embodies the highest international standards of excellence in professional training and research. The School is renowned for its programs in orchestra, opera, jazz, early music and contemporary music. Its status as a leader in sound recording and music technology provides unique possibilities for collaboration with the larger musical community.  Recognized as one of the major music schools in North America, the Schulich School of Music has more than 850 students, 240 faculty members and top programs in research and technology.  It hosts some 700 concerts and events each year.
