McGill's Green named MVP of Quebec indoor soccer league

MONTREAL - Katherine Green, a McGill University defensive stalwart from Richmond Hill, Ont., has been named as the most outstanding player in the Quebec university indoor soccer league.

The 20-year-old political science sophomore also earned all-star honours along with a plethora of McGill teammates who accounted for six of 11 spots on the Quebec Student Sports Federation's first team.

Joining Green on the all-conference squad was goaltender Shimone Slomowitz, defender Carolyn Bell and Julia Bahen, each from West Vancouver, B.C., plus midfielder Anna Smith of Sommerville, Mass., and forward Alexandra Morin-Boucher of St. Gabriel de Brandon, Que., who led the league with 11 goals in seven games.
