On November 30th, Elizabeth Russell, BSc (N) ’68, BSW’83, MSW’84, was killed in the terrorist attack at Victoria Station, Mumbai.
Elizabeth began her career as a nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she and Moss meet. After obtaining her BSW and MSW from McGill, she served individuals and families as a social worker at the Jewish General Hospital for the psychiatric in-patient unit for several years. In the years following, Elizabeth established a private practice in Westmount.
A devoted mother, Elizabeth leaves behind two daughters and a son who reside in Montreal. The School of Social Work extends its deepest sympathies to Elizabeth’s family and mourns the loss of an outstanding and invaluable colleague.
