McGill Desautels BCom students take six podiums at the 2012 Jeux du Commerce

Desautels Faculty of Management BCom students took six top 3 podiums at the 24th edition of the Jeux du Commerce, hosted by Laval University in Quebec City from January 5 to 8, 2012.

Over 1,200 students from 13 Eastern-Canadian universities attended this inter-university competition. In addition to competitions that applied academic knowledge to real-life situations, there were opportunities to network with students from different universities, and connect with the business world. Sports and social competitions were also part of the event.

Great performances won six podiums for McGill students:

Second place:

Stock Simulation: Marc-Antoine Allen, Nicolas Bellemarre, Tommy Labbe and Simon Pelletier

Operations Management: Eric Aboutboul, Jessica Lewis and Gaziza Tolkimbayeva

Third place:

Accounting: Alistair Beauprie, Julia Godolphin and Maxime St-Laurent

Entrepreneurship: Frederick Dubé-Fortier, Alyssa Favreau and Anne-Claude Gendron,

International Business: Samuel Latham, Baba Thakur and Ava Yazdani

Social: Cassandra Dambrosio, Tyler Hoffmeister, Aya Kadi and Daniel Sorek

A big thank you goes out to students Charlotte Des Rosiers-Couture as well as Emilie Desjardins, Jessie-Anne Voyer, Gaziza Tolkimbayeva, Sumira Jayabalan, Cassandra D'Ambrosio and David Di Guglielmo for leading the McGill delegation of 82 students.

Thanks also go to Professor Richard Donovan's case coaching and who accompanied the delegation to Quebec City as well as to Professors Angela Burlton, Vadim di Pietro, Suzanne Gagnon, Larry Goldsman, Saurabh Mishra and Julia Scott who provided their time and expertise to coach our students.
