McGill crew 17th of 38 boats at Boston regatta

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The McGill women’s heavyweight eight finished 17th of 38 boats at the 44th annual Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday.

They finished the three-mile course (4.83 km) in a time of 18 minutes, 37 seconds. First place went to the Williams College Boat Club in a time of 17:11.

The McGill boat was composed of Emily Kinsler (coxswain) of Concord, N.H.,, Mara Edelman (stroke seat) of Boston, Brianna Tallon (7-seat) of Calgary, Andrea Wilson (6-seat) of St. Lambert, QUe., Sigourney Courtright (5-seat) of Calgary, Caitlin Cavanaugh (4-seat) of Worcester, Mass., Melanie Gabanna (3-seat) of Montreal, Maeve Forster (2-seat) of Oakland, Calif., and Hana Conlon (1-seat) of Dayton, Ohio.

The McGill crew heads to the OUA championships in St. Catharines, Ont., next weekend, with the novices scheduled to compete on Friday and the varsity boats set to race on Saturday.
