McGill and CAS seek to increase ties in areas of strength

Published: 3 December 2012

Prof. Heather Munroe-Blum, McGill’s Principal and Vice-Chancellor, met with senior leadership of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on November 15, during her recent trip to China.

The meeting was a chance for McGill to explore new opportunities for collaboration with the CAS, especially in the fields of life sciences, biodiversity, biofuels, green chemistry, food safety and bioinformatics – all areas of strength at McGill.

Following the discussions, it was noted that potential CAS-McGill collaborations could take the form of workshops, joint research projects, and student exchanges.
