McGill and AMURE meet for 2nd time

Published: 28 March 2012

The University and AMURE met for the second time on March 21.

The University presented the revised working document of comparative proposals, which was reviewed during the meeting. The parties agreed this would serve as the primary working document to facilitate the exchange of proposals during negotiations.

As agreed on March 14, time was spent discussing respective proposals relating to the definition of terms to be included in the collective agreement. A total of 42 term definitions applicable to research associates and assistants' collective agreements were presented and discussed. Of that number, 32 items were agreed to by the parties.

At the next session, scheduled for April 4, the parties will pursue this discussion in view of reaching an agreement on the 10 remaining items.

McGill and AMURE have agreed on shared communications throughout the negotiation process.
