Major breakthrough to be announced on artificial heart implantation at the MUHC

The MUHC will hold a press conference tomorrow (13 December 2006 at 10:00 am) to announce a Canadian first in the field of cardiac mechanical assist. The media will be given the opportunity to interview Dr. Renzo Cecere, Director of the Mechanical Assist Program and Surgical Director of the Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Program, Dr. Nadia Giannetti, Medical Director of the Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Program of MUHC, and the patient involved in the new surgery.
