"McGill is known for its international outreach, but few realize how far it reaches into the Milky Way. Which McGill graduate and astronaut will be the seventh Canadian in space?"

"Which McGill French Language and Literature professor wrote an important and critically-acclaimed biography of renowned Quebec author Gabrielle Roy?"

"In 1969, the Shaughnessy Cup was first presented for local football supremacy between McGill and Loyola (now Concordia University.) For which early 20th Century football innovator is it named?"

Welcome to the second McGill University Treasure Hunt on the Web, the Internet-based game designed to promote the wealth of knowledge and resources available at McGill. Last year, our game was played and applauded by people around the world. Encouraged by its success, we decided to do it again. However, this year’s Treasure Hunt on the Web is bigger and better than before.

The game is fun and educational. Players must correctly answer 10 knowledge-testing questions about McGill University, its history, research and programs. After successfully completing a game, players can register for one of the prize draws. There are five player categories in all, each with its own prize list: First-year students, Current students, Alumni, Staff, and Other. In other words, anyone who successfully completes the game is eligible to win prizes.

The contest runs from April 15 to August 15, 1998.

We’d like to thank all of our sponsors for their generous contributions: the McGill University Bookstore, the McGill Associates, Château Versailles, Holiday Inn-Midtown Montreal, the McGill Computer Store, ACC Telecom, CKUT Radio McGill, McGill Athletics, and the McGill Faculty Club.

A joint project of the University Relations Office and the Recruitment and Liaison Office.
