In a special article contributed to the Montreal Gazette, Safia Ahmad interviewed Mélodie Daoust, graduating student in our Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education and McGill Marlet hockey star.

"Not only was the Valleyfield native a demon on the ice," wrote Ahmad in part, "she was also strong in the classroom, posting a 3.6 GPA. The physical-education student was named USports all-Canadian academic twice and received the prestigious Jean Béliveau Award given to student-athletes who excelled at school and in the community."
