Tuesday, February 12th is Bell Let’s Talk Day!

 

Bringing awareness to an often invisible, yet one of the most pervasive health issues in Canada, Bell Let’s Talk is a mission to address mental illness in the workplace and at home. This program is dedicated to the promotion and support of mental health, through initiatives to support anti-stigma, increased access to care, additional research, and improving the overall culture of mental health support in Canada. Today, CTV News Montreal is featuring an interview with our very own Dr. Mimi Israel, who discusses mental resilience and explains why some people react better than others to psychological pressure.

Mimi Israël, MA, MD, FRCPC, is an active clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator. She is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University, and she is also Psychiatrist-in-Chief at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. Dr. Israel is primarily interested in the areas of eating disorders, affective disorders, crisis intervention, emergency psychiatry and mental health care service organization and delivery.
